Why Play for SUMMIT Juniors Volleyball Club?
Every club is different. When comparing clubs, be sure to ask specific questions about what is included in the cost, tournament schedules, hours of practice, uniforms, optional practices and other benefits.

Every player will have a different club experience. Those who put more effort in usually get more out of it. SUMMIT strives to provide quality training for every player involved in our program, from Regional teams to National teams. Below are some of the advantages in playing for SUMMIT.

Open Club (not affiliated with any specific school)
SUMMIT Juniors offers a unique opportunity for girls throughout the area to participate in our club. We are not affiliated with any particular school. Larger cities have adopted "Open" teams and take various athletes from each school and mix up teams so that no one club is representational of any specific school.  The benefit of having a program like this is you gain experience working with different people and compete at higher levels of competition.

National Qualifier
Our National Teams play in the 3-Day National Qualifier at the Minneapolis Convention Center against some of the best juniors teams in the country.  For more info on the Qualifier, click here.

Quality Training
SUMMIT is one of the few clubs in the Fargo/Moorhead region to provide a primary coach for all of our Regional and National teams as well as additional practice coaches. This means more reps, more feedback and more productive practices. Many of our experienced volleyball coaches have played collegiate volleyball, and/or have coached club volleyball for years.

All of our coaches are IMPACT certified through USA Volleyball, the national governing body of Juniors club volleyball. SUMMIT offers additional training to our coaches, because we believe that, like players, coaches should continually strive for improvement.

Senior Athletes
High school seniors can play! Most developmental clubs reserve spots for underclassmen that still have another year of high school eligibility left. Our 18s team invites the best senior players in the area to compete on a team that will showcase their talent at top-level competitions. Elite 18s is a conglomerate of some of the best Class A and Class B schools in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota. Juniors and sophomores may also compete on an elite team providing they can compete at that level.

SUMMIT Juniors helps our Elite 18s find scholarships. One of our goals is for the Elite team athletes to get as many opportunities as possible to find a scholarship to continue their playing careers at the college level.

SUMMIT is one of the largest clubs in the Red River Valley. This offers an advantage to our players, because our teams can play each other and help each other grow without having to leave our gyms to do so.

SUMMIT was founded in 2011 and is entering its fifth season of competition in the Fargo/Moorhead region. We have developed a Skill Development Progression which outlines the skill expectations for each age group. Our director oversees practices to ensure that they are being run in accordance with the established guidelines.

Playing club volleyball is expensive. SUMMIT is a not for profit organization, and we are dedicated to keeping costs as low as possible for our athletes and families while still providing quality training and opportunities for participation in competitive tournaments.  Our tournament schedules are also designed to expose athletes to age-appropriate, competitive tournaments within a reasonable travel distance. Our athletes play in more tournaments than other clubs, and our National Teams have the opportunity to play in a 3-day National Qualifier tournament.

Exposure to College Coaches (Recruiting)/Competitive Tournament Play
College coaches regularly attend and recruit from club tournaments. If you plan to play in college, the best way to do so is to play club volleyball. In order to increase your exposure, we schedule competitive tournaments outside of the F-M Area, tournaments that many college coaches are likely to attend. Also, many of our coaches have been through the college recruiting process themselves, and are able to offer unique and valuable insight based on their own experiences. Our National teams' tournament schedules are designed to provide maximum exposure to college coaches through attendance at competitive tournaments, such as National Qualifier tournaments.

National Qualifier
Our top-level teams in each of our higher age divisions (14U and up) will have the opportunity to travel to Minneapolis to compete at the Northern Lights National Qualifier. A National Qualifier is any one of 10 tournaments nationwide that attract the best players in the country from 12U to 18U. If your team places in the top 2 of a National Qualifier, you earn the chance to compete at the Junior Nationals Tournament.

The Overall Experience
SUMMIT strives to provide a successful club experience for everyone involved - players, coaches and parents. We are working to build a club culture of driven players, successful teams, dedicated coaches, and supportive families.
